Privacy Policy
Last Revised: February 13, 2026Flashcards GG (hereinafter "the App", "We", "Us") is a flashcard application that helps you create, study, and share flashcard sets. The App is made available through the Apple App Store and provided by flashcards.gg.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices.
How the App Works
The App works primarily offline. All flashcard data is stored locally on your device. Internet access is only required for the following optional features:
- AI Flashcard Generation — When you use the AI generator, the topic and description you provide are sent to our server, which forwards them to Google Gemini, a third-party AI service provided by Google, to generate flashcard content. No personal data is included in these requests.
- Cloud Sync — If you sign in, your flashcard sets are synced to our server so you can access them across devices.
- Sharing — When you share a flashcard set, the set content is uploaded to our server and a shareable link is generated.
Authentication
The App offers optional sign-in via Google or Apple. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google. When you sign in, we receive your email address and a unique user identifier. We use this information solely to associate your flashcard data with your account for sync purposes. We do not use your email for marketing or share it with third parties.
You can use the App without signing in. In that case, no personal data is collected.
Data Collection
We collect the following data only when you choose to use the corresponding features:
- Account Information — Email address and user ID when you sign in with Google or Apple, used for authentication and sync.
- Flashcard Data — Your flashcard sets and their content, synced to our server only if you are signed in.
- AI Generation Requests — The topic and description text you provide when generating flashcards with AI. These are processed by our server and are not linked to your identity if you are not signed in.
We do not collect analytics data, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage tracking data.
Data Storage
Flashcard data is stored locally on your device. If you sign in, your data is also stored on our server (hosted on Google Cloud) to enable sync across devices. Shared flashcard sets are stored on our server for as long as the share link is active.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — For sign-in with Google and Apple. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Gemini (Google) — For AI-powered flashcard generation. The topic and description text you enter is sent to Google Gemini for processing. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Cloud — For hosting our server and storing synced data.
Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. You can:
- Delete your flashcard data by removing sets within the App.
- Delete your account and all associated data from our server using the "Delete Account" option in the App's menu.
- Sign out to stop syncing data to our server.
- Contact us at support@flashcards.gg to request deletion of all your data from our server.
We do not sell your data.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transfers between the App and our server.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child's personal data was collected without appropriate authorization, it will be deleted promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised date will be shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
